A closed presentation of a product already being called an event in the domestic alcohol industry took place in Astana. The first Kazakh gin — ARCHA London Dry Gin — was officially introduced.
The event brought together industry experts, leading bartenders, and HoReCa colleagues, who were shown for the first time a drink built around local terroir and high distillation technologies. The hero of the evening is a gin created strictly according to the London Dry standard (no sugar, flavourings or extracts), but with a unique “heart”: wild Kazakh juniper (archa), harvested in the mountainous and foothill regions of the country.
Why ARCHA is the first?
For a long time, Kazakhstan remained a country without its own recognisable gin, while local juniper (archa) had the potential to become an ideal botanical. GLOBAL BEVERAGES, which owns its own production of high‑purity neutral grain spirit “Alpha” and modern distillation equipment at the ALFA-ORGANIC plant, decided to fill this gap.
ARCHA is the first gin in Kazakhstan that:
- uses exclusively local wild archa as a key botanical;
- is produced at a local plant in a full cycle — from spirit preparation to final filtration;
- complies with the international London Dry Gin standard without compromises.
Technology: premium without essences
Guests of the presentation were given a detailed explanation by Boris Kim, brand ambassador of GLOBAL BEVERAGES, about each stage of creating ARCHA:
- 5 stages of water purification — for crystal softness that does not overpower the botanical notes.
- Combined distillation method (maceration + steam aromatisation) with a gin basket, where botanicals are placed in a strict sequence.
- Selection of only the “heart” of the distillate — no heads or tails fractions.
- Full quality control from laboratory analyses to sensory evaluation of each batch.
What’s inside: botanicals and flavour
The botanical composition of ARCHA gin, besides the main star — archa — includes: coriander and cardamom seeds, fresh zest of orange, mandarin and grapefruit, rosemary leaves, almond kernels, orris root.
According to experts at the presentation:
- Aroma — deep coniferous, with resinous and balsamic notes, a light citrus‑spicy trail.
- Taste — multilayered: coniferous freshness, spiciness of coriander and cardamom, bright citrus juiciness, ending with noble herbal‑floral notes.
- Aftertaste — long, dry, crystal clear.
For whom and how to drink
The first Kazakh gin ARCHA is positioned as a premium product for connoisseurs of authentic regional identity. It is ideal neat or on the rocks (to appreciate the terroir of archa), in a classic gin and tonic, and in signature cocktails.
Status
ARCHA gin is bottled in 0.7 L bottles, 45% ABV. The drink is already available for partners and at premium retail outlets (check with the official distributor).
