The production of GODUNOFF Vodka is based on a recipe from 1599,
created during the reign of Tsar Boris Godunov — the first ruler in Russian history to ascend to the throne not by hereditary right, but by the Zemsky Sobor (National Assembly). Godunov strengthened central authority, improved administration, and supported the development of education and culture. During his reign, Russia’s first higher educational institution, the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy, was founded. He also concluded peace treaties with the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Sweden, sparing Russia from major wars in the early years of his rule.

Royal feasts, as in most monarchies, were never solitary affairs. They were grand events held in palatial halls adorned with jewels, tapestries, and works of art. Guests arrived in layered garments of silk, velvet, fur, and gold embroidery. Tables were decorated with fine tableware, embroidered linens, and elaborate dishes — game, fish, exotic delicacies, and rare imported spices.

Music, dancing, and theatrical performances accompanied these lavish banquets, turning them into symbols of power, diplomacy, and alliance.

Naturally, such occasions demanded beverages worthy of royal status — simple mead was not enough. It was during this time that the vodka recipe, born in Russia in the late 14th century when Kremlin monks began distilling alcohol, was refined.

By combining this ancient tradition with the latest distillation and cold-filtration technologies, we have created a vodka of flawless smoothness and crystal purity — GODUNOFF.

So let it be!
